Epidemiological and Clinical Investigation of Snake Bite Cases Admitted to the Emergency Department of a Tertiary Hospital in Izmir

Objective: There are more than 3000 snake species in the world, about 30% of which known to be venomous. Snake poisoning can cause serious mortality and morbidity. In this study, it was aimed investigate epidemiologically clinically bite cases admitted emergency department a tertiary hospital Izmir.
 Material Methods: Patients who applied our with complaint between 2012 2022 were included retrospective observational study. The data patients obtained by scanning electronic database. Vital signs, laboratory values, physical examination findings outcomes evaluated.
 Results: Of 52 patients, 22 (42.3%) female, 30 (57.7%) male, mean age 48±16. It seen that most occurred summer season only 1 patient died total. on extremity 41 (78.8%) while 11 (21.2%) had non-extremity bites. statistically significant difference CK value, potassium local edema diffuse incidence two groups according site.
 Conclusion: Higher CK, lower level bites compared
